I would like to let you all know about the Riot Raffle. The Riot Raffle was created by Zoe Grant of Zoe & Drew. Zoe, like me, wanted to help out after the riots but was too far away from the areas affected to help with the clean up. I didn't have any time to organise anything as I was about to go on holiday and I wouldn't have known where to start anyway. It basically does what it says on the tin - it is a raffle to raise money for the victims of the recent riots. The money raised will go to Retail Trust.
"Retail Trust, the only charity looking after the needs of all three million people in retail, are on hand to help with all retail staff, shopkeepers and their families who have been affected directly and indirectly by the UK riots" (Riot Raffle).
You can read more about how it will be directly helping the shopkeepers affected here.
Apart from this raffle being for a good cause, it's uniqueness is also in the prizes. The prizes have been donated by people like me in the arts and crafts community who make handmade items. You can see a list of prizes here on the Riot Raffle facebook page that have been added so far. There is at least 80 prizes and they will all eventually be added here for you to view. Here is my donation! All of the donations I have seen so far are lovely and I wonder if I am allowed to buy tickets, hmmm??
The tickets are £1 each, it closes on 30th September so do hurry over and buy yourself a few tickets! Do read the raffle rules first though for how you go about doing so!
Ps. Have no idea how I managed to get a white background behind my text but I can't friggin' get it off!!
