Sew Pretty

This week I have been ignoring the amount of work that needs to be researched and written between now and Christmas for Uni (12, 000 words plus a long presentation!) and have tried to squeeze in as much crafting as possible!

I have nearly finished crocheting the baby blanket for my niece/nephew who's due to arrive in November! So I will be blogging about that soon!

Recently I have seen a couple of people on Instagram sewing a Scandinavian style heart and I just had to get in on the action! So I bought the book they were working from, it's called Rainbow of Stitches. It has hundreds of cross stitch and embroidered motifs and loads of ideas for using them. I picked a relatively small but pretty design to make and finished it very quickly....and I love it!!!

In other news this week I taught Isobel, my 7 year old, to crochet!!! Luckily she picks skills up very quickly as I can be impatient and she is now making a small blanket for the new kitten we're getting in 3 weeks!! Her crochet is a bit loose at the moment but obviously she's not as dexterous as adults so her little granny squares are brilliant considering!! I am so pleased to have passed the skill down to her! My eldest hasn't been as interested in the past but now she wants to learn too!

Back to Uni again today...my time will be taken up with work soon so after the baby blanket is finished there won't be much crafting going on. Boohoo!
