I sew stuff, I crochet stuff, I make other stuff, I talk about stuff, and well...you know...stuff!

Boo, hiss!

It's been three months since I last blogged! I haven't really been enthusiastic about crafting or blogging recently - I haven't been my usual self at all and have spent the last few weeks just trying to keep myself going. I had a week in Haworth with my lovely family and that helped me enormously and have picked up my crochet again, and also a spot of cross stitch! Before my holiday I spent a while decorating my hallway which looks lovely now in a duck egg blue!

My health is still good but not quite as good as it has been in the past so I have stopped going to the gym to avoid making my arthritis flare up beyond the aches and pains I have been getting! I keep pulling my disc out in my spine which is completely my fault so I am in and out of doing too much and then resting because of doing too much! Ah well!

To keep myself going I have been reading some classic literature - mainly by the Brontë sisters and I have been encouraging the girls to read a lot too! I had quite forgotten how much I loved reading fiction and I can barely put my book down at times!

Anyway, enough of the boring, self indulgent nonsense - here's why you really follow and read my blog.....

In between two large projects I have going on, I crocheted a quick snake yesterday for my youngest daughter who has a small collection of snakes! They are all named after Prime Ministers and so far we have Tony, Gordon and David, and now our newest member - Cherie! She didn't want Margaret (surprisingly) so Tony now has his wife beside him!

The inspiration was from Attic24's snake but I couldn't find a free pattern I liked so I made it up which wasn't difficult as it's only one shape! I wanted to put a bell in at the end but couldn't find one, instead, I found two silver thimbles, filled one with metal popper bits and taped it together and now Cherie has a fantastic rattle!

What do you think?

Hopefully, I'll cheer the hell up soon! Thanks for reading!
