I am fending off the doubts in my head about my ability, my talent, my imagination and my NAT (negative automatic thought) that I am not good enough!
So many people tell me I AM good enough, I have only ever heard compliments. But most of all, scores of people have said I should sell the things I make and that I would make a fortune! They do underestimate the cost of fabric and sewing goods plus the time it takes to make something, but perhaps they are right - what if my head is wrong?
So, today I opened an online shop on Folksy. I am sticking with the name meanyjar as I am not going to spend ages on thinking of a new one. I hope the 'meany' part doesn't put people off. I am not mean at all, or a jar for that matter!
So here's to me and my grand opening! *Cuts ribbon with shiny new scissors, sips from a glass of champagne and takes a bow* Please enter and have a browse!
Ps. More lines will be added in due course!
Good for you! Sure you'll be a success, love the button heart! x
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenny! That's my favourite too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, I love the button heart x
ReplyDeleteGood you for lovely! I love the home one.....very inspiring. Kick those NAT thoughts to the kerb eh & know that they come from someone else / parental figure in your life!! You can and you are good enough! I have a mantra I have on my fridge....."Even before I get out of bed I'm good enough".....that is to say with unbrushed teeth and bed hair I really am good enough :D I bloody am!!
ReplyDeleteLots of luck for your new venture on Folksy :D

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the button hoop!! (but then I am daft on buttons!). You don't need to doubt your ability - your stock is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteSaw this retweeted through CraftBlogUK. AMAZING! These are completely gorgeous! It's a big step putting yourself out there, but these are so stunning! And another new follower from me too! :)

Thank you all for your lovely comments! It really does boost my confidence!
ReplyDeleteI like the name Meanyjar - it just sounds nicely bonkers to me, rather than meaning 'mean' - and nicely bonkers is always good for a Folksy Shop I think!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it all - and yes, banish doubts about personal ability and instead, just ask 'am I doing everything I can to make it work?' 'what else could I do?' 'how can I find out more about making it work?'. And then ask for help when you need it. More useful than self-doubt because it's outward-facing, not inward! x x x Good luck!
Thank you ever so much Catherine!
ReplyDeleteI hope it's quirky enough!
You are so right about the doubts! Just difficult to banish sometimes, but I am trying to banish them through doing this!
