I joined in with the Popular Craft heart swap in February, this is the first swap I have participated in and I was looking forward to it. I was paired up with Lisa Stevens of Seaurchin. Lisa makes ceramics and sculptural jewellery and her creations are simply beautiful. I was very excited about this as it is a craft I am unfamiliar with and I also have previously had little interest in owning anything ceramic. The craft swap idea is brilliant as it opens up peoples minds to different crafts and different styles too.
I was very pleased with my little parcel when it arrived, I am in love with my beautiful ceramic heart. I have no idea how it was made but it is certainly very intriguing. The shade of pink is my favourite and is one of the colours I wish to use in my hallway so it was perfect for me and I cannot wait to put it up in my newly painted hallway when I get round to it!
I made Lisa a crocheted stuffed heart wall decoration, I was quite pleased with it as I had never crocheted a stuffed heart before. Hopefully if Lisa posts it somewhere I can link to it!
*Lisa has kindly let me pinch her photo of the stuffed heart from here, I had forgotten that I used some of my home grown lavender plus rice to fill the first two hearts, Lisa's description reminded me!
Here is my pretty ceramic heart plus a card of ribbon that Lisa kindly sent with it. There was a purple button too but Isobel claimed it and made something with it!
wow there both very lovely :) x
ReplyDeleteSuch thoughtful and lovely heartswap makes. It is great to see the exchanges. The wall hanging is adorable. So nice to have the added touch of lavender. The bought gift is very cute. Fancy finding 'love heart buttons' very sweet : )
